Gather your friends and Step4Circus too!
The Step4Circus Hiking Challenge will promote the fundraising initiative to help get Circus professionals back to work. Participants may use a pedometer or other step tracker to record the number of daily miles traveled and record this number into the ChallengeRunner.com system either through the website or by using the ChallengeRunner smartphone apps. While it is recommended that participants log distance every evening, they have up to seven days to record daily distance. The totals of those distances are then compared against one another and a real-time leaderboard is made available. Participants should reach out to friends, family, small businesses, and/or corporations that are doing well for sponsorship per mile. Sponsors can donate as little as 10 cents per mile and as much as $100 or more per mile. Sponsorship dollars should be donated through the Step4Circus GoFundMe page, following collection, no later than 2 weeks after the conclusion of this challenge. You can find more information about the Step4Circus initiative on our GoFundMe page.
This challenge will run for eight weeks. At the conclusion of eight weeks, the participants with the top three recorded steps will be awarded the following:
In addition, every participant who records a minimum of 50 miles will unlock an exclusive virtual Act produced by Step4Circus.
Participants who record a minimum of 100 miles will unlock a 30 minute Virtual Show, and those who record 200 miles will unlock a 1 hour Virtual Show.
All participants who record a minimum or 100 miles or $1000 will receive a Step4Circus t-shirt and Save the Circus swag bag!

When you are ready to ask for sponsorship dollars, be clear about your goal. Make sure that they know you plan to hike 50, 100, 200, or more miles and hope to raise $100, $1000, or $10,000 with your hike.
Ask your potential sponsors if they would be interested in being a part of your sponsorship team. Let them know that they can sponsor you at any amount from 10 cents to $10, $100, or more per mile. You can also give them the option to sponsor you at a flat rate, such as $50 or $250 for you effort independent from distance. Be sure they know you will be collecting the money within 2 weeks of the completion of the challenge.
The Step4Circus Hiking Challenge allows you to create a team. You can build a team and work together toward a common goal to help get circus professionals back to work, have some fun, and get some exercise at the same time. You can all hike together or collect your miles independently!
Don't forget to thank your friends and family for the chance to share your goals and consideration for sponsorship. Be sure they know how much you value them and their time.
